Dalit Right Consultation

Consultation on Tribal Right

Rajasthan is surrounded by forest cover in its southern region (Udaipur, Banswara, Pratapgarh and part of Chittorgarh), Sporadic cover along the Aravalli Hills around Alwar, Bharatpur, Jaipur and Ajmer. The declaration of Tiger Sanctuary in Siriska and other regions have adversely affected the livelihood of tribal communities and other forest dwellers. The poor living conditions coupled with atrocity by Forest Departmental staff in collection of NTFP and MFP has rendered the life of such communities miserable. Movement on land right , livelihood issues, against displacement has generated peoples collectiveness and eagerness to raise voice against state oppression. Movements supported by various networks "Manav Vikas Manch, Lardesh Mazdoor Sangharh Samity, Siriska Bachao Sangarh Samity, Mihi Dam Vistapit Sangarsh Samity". These smaller networks actively participated in Tribal Act movement in previous years. Demand to provide adequate labor by contractors, land patta for cultivation & livelihood, control over natural resources were raised in the general assembly and mentioned in the charter of demand
